About UsHi. My name is John Fletcher and I have had a passion for aquariums all my life. It all started when my father got the aquarium bug when I was about 10 years old. Like most of us, he started out with a small tank. Then, not long after he moved up to a 240 gallon tank with a huge arrawana and a giant algae eater. The image of that tank has stayed with me ever since. I started keeping fresh water tanks in 1998, but have always had a desire for one of those salt water aquariums we have all seen that are spectacular to look at. So a few years ago I decided to bite the bullet and learn as much as I could about reef tanks. I also joined MAST (Marine Aquarium Society of Toronto) and have learned a lot from the members. It has been a long road and I still have much to learn, but I have been very successful with my first reef aquarium. Because of the knowledge I have gained, I wanted to share it with other like minded people, especially those who are just starting out in this addictive hobby. While searching for a host for my site, I was very fortunate to come across the web site SBI (Site Build It) This site takes you by the hand, step by step and shows you how to build a great web site and how to make it into a business. It never even occurred to me that I might make some money from my site, but that’s just what I am doing, thanks to SBI. This is not a get rich quick scheme. There is a lot of work involved. Anyone with a passion for something can do this. I did and so can you. There is so much free information available from SBI including some online video of exactly what SBI can do for you. Take just a few minutes and check it out. Site Build It Video Action Guide

Quick TipsAlways remember
Good things happen slow in a reef aquarium. Bad things happen fast and take a long time to fix. ![]() Maintenance
I know that maintenance can become a chore and is easy to put off for another day. Please don't do this. Your tank inhabitants will thank you for keeping up with your schedule. Lighting
Got an algae breakout? Could be from old bulbs. How long has it been since yours were replaced? Research is the key to successIt may seem boring but if your desire is to build a great looking reef tank, you must spend some quality time researching.Take it slow and you will succeed. Move too fast and you will run into trouble. | |
