Everything, including all your equipement needs, will more or less depend on the kinds of inhabitants in your tank.

Many corals will require different lighting systems. SPS need intense lighting while LPS and other soft corals do not need high intensity lighting.

Always start off with the biggest tank you can afford. More water volume allows more room for error.
